Our mission is to ignite the digital manufacturing revolution by simplifying the path from idea to finished product. At Inventables, we believe the world is at the beginning of a new renaissance. We see power in product development shifting from major corporations to individual designers and entrepreneurs. The availability of low-cost manufacturing tools and low-cost distribution on Internet sites are leveling the playing field. Small teams can now make unique high value products that major corporations can’t justify because they aren’t for the masses.

Our Values

CURIOSITY
We are curious people who are always learning about new things and investigating new areas: everything from buying novel products at the grocery store to exploring new information and technology.

HONESTY & INTEGRITY
We are honest with each other, vendors, customers, and honest with ourselves. We acknowledge things as they are, not as we wish them to be.

A COMMITMENT TO RATIONAL THINKING
Decisions are based on logic and reason instead of emotions or intuition.

RESPONSIBILITY
We take ownership over the outcome. We share the entrepreneurial spirit and play to win.

EXCELLENCE
As individuals, we have higher expectations for ourselves than Inventables has for us. We are committed to personal excellence and self improvement.

We use agile software development techniques to focus our coding efforts on solving our business goals. We use Rails, Javascript, RSpec, Cucumber, and we run everything on the Amazon AWS platform. We pair program, and we follow a test-driven development process. We deliver early and often. We believe that these practices lead to higher code quality.

We have a culture that makes time for innovation: every Friday is “Free Point Friday” where the technical team works on what they think is most important – no questions asked. Check out Cohortly and Oneth1ng for just a couple examples of things we’ve built on Free Point Friday.
