It looks great. I don’t have that much confidence in my dimensions, so I start with wood that is 2” larger than I need. Then trim it after carving.

your stars are all not consistent not sure how you created this design but it needs work

fyi....if you tried to trace /vectorize a stars image in easel the stars will never all be the same you need to create the star in easel and not trace/vectorize an image

William, no, maple has several different sub species, two of which are soft and hard
