Apply to win a 3D Carver!

By the end of the decade we want a 3D carver in every school in the USA. To kickstart the project we have committed to President Obama and the White House to donate a 3D carver to a school in every state.

Inventables will be donating 3D carving machines to K-12, High Schools, Community Colleges and Universities in all 50 states. Last year, Inventables hosted a contest for a public maker space in every state to receive a 3D carving machine.

This year, Inventables will launch a version of the contest aimed at identifying schools committed to creating more opportunities for their students to design, prototype and build their ideas and prepare themselves for careers in advanced manufacturing, industrial design, and engineering.

3D carving machines, historically known as computer numerically controlled (CNC) milling machines, are making it easier, faster and more efficient for individuals to digitally fabricate designs using a variety of materials, from foam and wood to acrylic, and even metal.

The contest will be a three round process. Based on the responses to round 1 (the application form), applicants will be invited to participate in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
